Bhubaneswar, 1 September (H.S.): The Commissionerate Police on Monday announced strict restrictions on the use of DJ music, laser lights, and firecrackers during immersion processions (Bhasani) for Durga Puja 2025 in the Twin Cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.

The decision was taken at a preparatory meeting held at Police Seva Bhawan, attended by Khordha and Cuttack District Collectors, the Twin City Police Commissioner, CMC and BMC Mayors, local MLAs, and representatives of various Puja Committees.

As per the guidelines, only traditional musical instruments will be permitted during immersion processions. The restrictions have been enforced to preserve the sanctity of rituals, curb noise and light pollution, and maintain peace and order during the festive season.

Police authorities have cautioned that stringent action will be taken against violators to ensure a safe, peaceful, and culturally authentic celebration of Maa Durga’s festival.
