New Delhi, September 1(HS): Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupendra Yadav, met with the appointed Chair of the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), President Designate Ambassador Andre Correa do Lago, and his delegation in New Delhi on Monday. Sharing details of the meeting on X, Yadav said,Held an engaging discussion with COP30 President Designate Ambassador Andre Correa do Lago and his team in New Delhi today.

We had extensive discussions on matters related to important agenda items of COP30 with particular focus on Global Goal on Adaptation, status of NDCs and the Presidency plans this year.

ji through its whole-of-government approach has been combating the climate change crisis through its domestic and international climate action programmes.

During the talks, Yadav briefed the COP30 representatives on how India, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, is actively combating the climate crisis through a comprehensive governmental approach integrating both domestic initiatives and international climate action commitments.

The COP30 summit, officially the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference, is scheduled to be held from November 10 to 21, 2025, in Belém, Brazil, marking a critical juncture for global climate negotiations ahead.
