Dehradun, August 6 (H.S.): PM Narendra Modi spoke with Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami over phone on Wednesday regarding the Dharali cloudburst disaster. PM Modi inquired about the status of relief and rescue operations, assuring full support from the central government. CM Dhami updated the Prime Minister on the state's ongoing efforts, stating that despite challenges posed by continuous heavy rains, agencies are coordinating to provide quick assistance to affected residents. The state government is focused on managing the relief operations effectively and is committed to supporting those impacted by the disaster.

Chief Minister Dhami has departed from Sahastradhara helipad to inspect the damage caused by the disaster in Dharaali market, Harsil, and surrounding areas. He will review the relief and rescue operations in the affected areas and the camps in Uttarkashi.

It is important to note that there was heavy devastation on Tuesday afternoon in Dharaali village of Uttarkashi district due to cloudburst. The Kheerganga River has flooded. So far, four people have died in this disaster, and several others are reported missing. Relief and rescue operations have been ongoing at the site since Wednesday morning. The army, NDRF, SDRF, and other agencies are engaged in relief efforts at a war level.
