New Delhi, August 5(HS): Today, global markets reflect a positive trend. US markets posted gains in the previous session, with Dow Jones futures also trending upward. The previous session saw strong performances in European markets.
Continuous buying characterized the US market, leading Wall Street indices to close robustly, with the Dow Jones up nearly 600 points. The S&P 500 rose by 91.93 points (1.47%), closing at 6,329.94, while the Nasdaq rose 403.45 points (1.95%) to end at 21,053.58. Dow Jones futures are currently at 44,267.84, up 0.21%.
European markets witnessed similar continuous buying; the FTSE gained 0.65% (closing at 9,128.30), the CAC jumped by 1.12% to 7,632.01, and the DAX increased by 331.72 points (1.40%) to 23,757.69.
In Asian markets today, of 9 indices, 7 are in the green. The GIFT Nifty is at 24,724, down 0.24%, while the Hang Seng slightly declined to 24,725 (down 0.03%).
Conversely, the Nikkei climbed by 265.30 points (0.66%) to 40,556. The Straits Times is up 0.50% to 4,218.02, and the KOSPI has surged 1.35% to 3,190.13. Other Asian indices, like the SET Composite and Taiwan Weighted Index, also show gains.
