Delhi, 5 August (H.S.): India will host the WHO–International Regulatory Cooperation for Herbal Medicines (IRCH) Workshop from August 6 to 8, 2025, at Hotel Fortune District Centre, Ghaziabad, organized by the Ministry of Ayush and WHO, supported by PCIM&H. The workshop will gather global experts and regulators to enhance the regulation of herbal medicines. Inaugurated by Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha and Dr. Kim Sungchol, the event will see participation from countries like Bhutan, Japan, and Uganda in-person, while Brazil and the USA will join virtually.
The workshop aims to foster collaboration, improve safety and efficacy, support regulatory convergence, and empower traditional medicine systems. Key sessions will focus on the safety, regulation, and efficacy of herbal medicines, including discussions on Ashwagandha. Participants will engage in hands-on training for herbal drug identification and safety monitoring under the Ayush Suraksha Programme. Delegates will visit significant institutions like PCIM&H and AIIA, gaining insights into India’s integrative health ecosystem. Overall, the workshop aims to harmonize global standards and promote the safe integration of traditional medicine into public health systems.
