Udhampur, 3 August (H.S.): MLA Udhampur West and Deputy Leader of Opposition (BJP) in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Pawan Gupta today said that Rs 125 crore water supply project is set to resolve Udhampur’s long-standing drinking water crisis.

Sharing significant updates on key development projects that are set to transform the town, Gupta announced that a major breakthrough has been achieved in resolving Udhampur’s long-standing drinking water crisis. He said a comprehensive Rs 125 crore water supply project has now been tendered and approved, paving the way for a sustainable, long-term solution that will benefit thousands of households across the region.

Pawan Gupta was addressing a gathering of social activists, civil society members and citizens of Udhampur, during an event organized at a banquet hall in Udhampur by Udhampur Citizens’ Forum Committee, under the leadership of Sham Saroop Kalsotra, Ashwani Paba, Advocate Dinkar Gupta, Dharam Vir Gupta, Suresh Gupta, Satpal Sallan and Mahesh Badyal

Gupta informed the gathering that a critical civic infrastructure project-a dedicated Municipal Office complex along with a multilevel parking facility-has also been sanctioned with an investment of Rs 19 crore. He said work on this long-pending project has already commenced, and it is expected to decongest traffic and improve urban management significantly.

The event also witnessed participation from several public representatives and key stakeholders, including DDC Chairman Lal Chand, DDC Members Puran Chand and Ashu Sharma, sarpanchs, panchs, BJP mandal presidents and other prominent citizens from across the district.
