Nagpur, 3 August (H.S.): Nagpur police on Sunday arrested a man for making a false bomb threat targeting the residence of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. The threat, which caused panic among authorities, was later confirmed to be a hoax.
According to officials, the man had called the city police control room via the emergency number 112 in the morning, claiming that a bomb had been planted at Gadkari’s home. The call prompted a swift security response and thorough checks at the minister’s residence.
During the investigation, police traced the call to a mobile number registered in the name of Umesh Vishnu Raut, a resident of Tulsi Bagh Road near Vima Dawakhana in Nagpur's Sakkardara area. He was taken into custody, and further interrogation is underway to determine his motives.
