Bhubaneswar, 2 August (H.S.): Kanak Mahapatra, mother of actor-turned-politician and BJP MLA Sidhant Mohapatra, passed away on Saturday, prompting an outpouring of condolences from Odisha’s top leadership.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, along with Deputy Chief Ministers K.V. Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, expressed deep sorrow over her demise. The Chief Minister personally visited Mohapatra’s residence in Bhubaneswar to pay his last respects and offer condolences to the bereaved family.
Taking to social media platform X , CM Majhi wrote, “Paid my respects to the late Kanak Mahapatra ji and offered my condolences to the grieving family. I pray to Lord Shri Jagannath for the eternal peace of the departed soul and strength for the family to bear this loss. Om Shanti.”
Deputy CM K.V. Singh Deo also shared his condolences, stating, “I am deeply saddened and heartbroken to hear the news of the passing of Kanak Mahapatra, mother of Odisha’s renowned actor and our party’s Digapahandi MLA, Sidhant Mohapatra. I pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul and extend my heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.”
