Delhi, 2 August (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented a substantial gift to Indian farmers by transferring ₹20,500 crores online under the 20th installment of the 'Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme' during a public meeting in Banouli village, Varanasi On Saturday.This initiative benefited 9.70 crore farmers nationwide, with Uttar Pradesh receiving ₹4600 crores for about 2.30 crore farmers, and Varanasi farmers receiving ₹48 crores. Collectively, Varanasi's farmers have received over ₹850 crores in 19 installments.

Additionally, Modi inaugurated crucial projects worth around ₹2,200 crores across various sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, tourism, and urban development, aimed at enhancing the quality of life in Varanasi.

During his visit, PM Modi also spoke about the significance of Operation Sindoor, which he related to a commitment made after a tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam. He expressed deep sympathy for the victims' families and maintained that the success of this operation was possible with divine blessings, especially from Mahadev.

PM Modi highlighted his wish to offer prayers to Baba Vishwanath during the holy month of 'sawan' but chose to bow in reverence from a distance to avoid inconveniencing other devotees. This visit marked his first return to Kashi post-operation, illustrating his connection to local sentiments and ongoing development efforts.
