Delhi, 2 August (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various development projects worth approximately Rs 2200 crore in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, on 2nd August around 11 AM, addressing the gathering at the event. These projects span numerous sectors, including infrastructure, education, healthcare, tourism, urban development, and cultural heritage, aimed at holistic urban transformation, cultural rejuvenation, improved connectivity, and enhanced quality of life in Varanasi.
To enhance road connectivity, the Prime Minister will inaugurate several infrastructure initiatives, including the widening of the Varanasi-Bhadohi road, the Chhitauni-Shool Tankeshwar road, and a Railway Overbridge at Hardattpur. Additionally, he will lay the foundation for extensive road widening across various rural and urban corridors and Railway Overbridges at Level Crossing 22C and Khalispur Yard.
He will also initiate power infrastructure improvements under the Smart Distribution Project and the undergrounding of electrical facilities valued over Rs 880 crore.In tourism, the redevelopment of eight riverfront Kuccha Ghats, enhancement of Kalika Dham, and beautification projects at various sites will be inaugurated. Foundational work will commence for the Kardameshwar Mahadev Temple restoration, the development of historic sites, City Facility Centres, and the upgrade of Munshi Premchand’s ancestral home.
An Urban Miyawaki Forest at Kanchanpur and the beautification of parks will also be initiated.To maintain culturally significant water bodies, the Prime Minister will oversee water purification projects at kunds and install floating pujan platforms. Accessibility to potable water in rural areas will be improved through the inauguration of 47 Rural Drinking Water Schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
To advance educational facilities, the upgradation of 53 school buildings within the municipal limits will occur, complemented by new educational projects like a district library and the rejuvenation of Government High Schools.For health infrastructure, advanced medical equipment will be inaugurated at local cancer centers, alongside the establishment of a Homoeopathic College.
An Animal Birth Control Centre and Dog Care Centre will also be introduced.In sports, a synthetic hockey turf at Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Sports Stadium will be inaugurated, and facilities for law enforcement will receive enhancements.
The Prime Minister will release the 20th instalment of PM-KISAN, transferring over Rs 20,500 crore to more than 9.7 crore farmers. Events under Kashi Sansad Pratiyogita will be introduced, along with the distribution of over 7,400 assistive aids to Divyangjan and elderly beneficiaries.
