(HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived on a one-day visit to his
parliamentary constituency Varanasi on Saturday. As soon as the Prime
Minister's special plane landed at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in
Babatpur, senior leaders welcomed the Prime Minister. From the airport, Prime Minister Modi left
for the public meeting organised in Banauli of Sewapuri in a special Air Force
chopper amid tight security arrangements.
This is his 51st visit to Kashi, for
which tremendous enthusiasm is being seen in the city and rural areas. Prime
Minister Modi will stay in Varanasi for about three hours during his visit.
During the public meeting, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of
52 development projects worth about Rs 2200 crore. Also, under the 20th
installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, he will transfer
an amount of Rs 20,500 crore through online medium to the accounts of 9.70
crore farmers across the country.
