Bijnor, 02 Aug (HS): On the auspicious occasion of
the 20th installment of the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Minister
of State (Independent Charge) of the Social Welfare Department, Asim Arun
inaugurated the Prime Minister Kisan Utsav program in the Harsh Vardhan
Auditorium of Vikas Bhavan by cutting the ribbon and garlanding the picture of
Mother Saraswati. During this, the live broadcast of the Prime Minister event from
Varanasi was seen and heard. Minister Asim Arun said in his address that the
land of Kannauj worships Mother Annapurna. The farmers here take inspiration
from nature and use the resources efficiently to get the best production with
savings. He informed that under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana,
an amount of Rs. 50 crore 26 lakh 30 thousand has been transferred to the
accounts of 2,51,315 eligible farmers of Kannauj district through DBT. This
amount will provide assistance to the farmers in purchasing fertilizers, seeds
etc. and farming.
He said that if
any person asks for money in lieu of this amount, then definitely inform about
it. Strict action will be taken against those who indulge in corruption. I will
neither commit corruption nor will I let others do it. We all have to fulfill
this resolution of the Prime Minister. The minister called upon the farmers to
work on their land with full dedication and hard work, so that better yield and
more profit can be obtained. He advised to adopt activities like animal
husbandry, fish farming, poultry farming along with farming. He said that today
the need is that we convert agriculture into industry. The people of Kannauj
are already working in this direction and know how agriculture can be turned
into an enterprise. We have to adopt new techniques to get more production on
less land. Like – polyhouse farming, in which there is a great possibility of
production and the government also provides subsidy for it. Similarly,
continuous efforts should be made to promote mushroom cultivation.
He informed that
now paddy is being cultivated in ponds through hydroponics technology, which is
an innovative and water-conservation based agricultural method. He said that
now the time has come that we should adopt modern agricultural techniques along
with traditional methods and work towards more production in less land. He
urged the farmers to move forward with new technology and contribute to the
creation of a self-reliant India. India has become the fourth largest economy
in the world and is now working towards becoming the third largest economy.
Also, under the
Zero Poverty Campaign, continuous efforts are being made to bring poor families
out of poverty. Before this, he also visited the stalls set up by various
departments. At the end of the program, Chief Development Officer Ramkripal
