(HS): The water level of the Yamuna river is flowing about two and a half
meters above the danger mark. In just one night, a dangerous rise of one and a
half meters was recorded in the water level, due to which more than two dozen
villages of the district came under the grip of flood. Hundreds of kutcha
houses have been submerged in water and many villages have become islands. The
district administration has started relief and rescue operations. Victims are being
taken to safe places. The water level of Yamuna was recorded at 102.68 meters
at 8 am on Saturday.
The danger mark of Yamuna is 100 meters. Traffic has
completely stopped due to waterlogging on the National Highway and Lalauli road
between Chilla-Tara. Police is advising drivers to take alternative routes. Due
to the flood, many connecting roads have also been submerged, due to which the
connectivity between the villages has been cut off.

village of Palani area, Yamuna water has filled up to 10 to 12 feet in front of
the Panchayat Bhawan. People are forced to move around by boats. Sick and
pregnant women are being evacuated by motorboats and taken to safe places or
hospitals.
Villages like
Tarauda, Nandadev, Padhora, Amara, Barehta, Shivrampur, Dippa Dera, Fakira
Dera, Naya Dera, Hazari Dera and Banjari Dera in Jaspura area have become
islands. Due to the explosion of electricity transformers, essential facilities
like electricity, water, health and education have come to a standstill.

and Tarauda Majra are completely submerged in water. Jaspura-Jhanjharipurva
road is also submerged. Water is flowing 6 to 12 feet on the causeway in
Gaurikalan and Gadaria village. Movement here is possible only by boat. Farmers
of Nandadev, Gaurikala, Bhatha, Amara and Jaspura said that hundreds of acres
of tur, sesame and jowar crops have been destroyed. The villagers have demanded
immediate compensation from the administration. Amlikaur's Pradhan
representative Deshraj Singh has also confirmed the huge loss of crops.
In the Tindwari
area, water has entered the villages of Amlikaur, Benda, Joharpur, Lohari and
Jalalpur. In Lohari, kutcha houses have started collapsing. In the Baberu area,
flood water is flowing up to two feet above the culverts in Majhiwa, Kevatra,
Badauli, Badhaila, Simouni, Tola Kala, Samagra, Bakal and Marka. In Baghela
village, the primary school has been submerged due to four feet of water, due
to which the villagers have to take shelter in the junior school. SDM Ankit
Verma said that teams of the Revenue Department are deployed in the affected
areas and continuous monitoring is being done. According to Additional
Superintendent of Police Shivraj, the water level of Yamuna and Ken rivers is
continuously rising, due to which the main roads of the district are also
flooded.
Among the affected
routes are Banda-Chilla-Lalauli Road Completely closed. Banda-Baberu-Rajapur
Road: Closed due to waterlogging between Kamasin and Rajapur. Banda-Hamirpur
Road: Traffic from Paprenda to Hamirpur has come to a halt. Roads leading to
Kanpur, Fatehpur, Prayagraj are also blocked. The administration has advised
travellers to travel via Bendaghat Bridge, Aughasi Ghat Bridge or Bundelkhand
Expressway. Meanwhile, according to the Central Water Commission, the water
level of Ken River has started receding. The water level was recorded at 102.44
m at 8:00 am. Now the water level is receding.
