Prakasam (Andhra Pradesh), 2 August (H.S.): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, on Saturday launched the ‘Annadatha Sukhibhava’ scheme by depositing Rs 7,000 each to 47 lakh farmers, totaling Rs 3,174 crore.
This scheme aims to provide Rs 20,000 financial aid annually to farmers. The first payment was disbursed at East Veerayapalem village, with Naidu presenting a symbolic cheque. Of the Rs 7,000 deposited, Rs 5,000 is from the state and Rs 2,000 from the central government’s PM-Kisan initiative. The total annual aid combines Rs 6,000 from PM-Kisan and Rs 14,000 from the state.
The NDA government allocated Rs 2,343 crore for this initial installment, with an additional Rs 831 crore from the Centre. ‘Annadatha Sukhibhava’ was part of Naidu's election promises for the upcoming 2024 polls, along with other benefits such as financial aid for children and women.
