Hooghly, 17 August (H.S.): The Police has achieved a big success in the medal theft case from the house of renowned former international swimmer Bula Choudhary. Chandannagar Police Commissionerate has arrested Krishna Choudhary (19) from Serampore in Hooghly district. The police has recovered 295 stolen medals and metal objects.

In a press conference held at Serampore DCP office, DCP (Serampore) Arnab Biswas said that the police have recovered a total of 295 medals. Along with this, some brass statues and metal pipes have also been seized. The police is trying to get to the bottom of the matter by interrogating the accused.

However, the relief is that Bula Choudhary's Padma Shri and Arjuna Award are safe and they are still with her.

As per information, the theft incident took place two days before Independence Day, but it came to light on 15 August. The Police said that the investigation of the case is still going on. Everything will be told in detail only after the investigation is completed.

After seeing the recovered medals, Bula Choudhary expressed happiness and thanked West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Chandannagar Police Commissionerate.
