Lucknow,
17 Aug (HS): Uttar Pradesh government's Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh
directly attacked Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav and said that social
media leaders have become frustrated with the continuous defeat. The
dream merchants who have lost their seats are now attacking the
Election Commission to mislead the public. It would be better if Akhilesh
Yadav, who is pleading for democracy, first clears the tainted history of his
party and rule. People have not forgotten.
In
response to Akhilesh's allegations on the Election Commission, Swatantra Dev
Singh retorted saying that Akhilesh Yadav is not the messiah of democracy, but
the heir of SP's goonda-raj. He is not concerned about democracy; he is more
concerned about the chair. The public knows everything, SP means goonda-raj and
BJP means good governance. The desperate prince now wants to save his sinking
boat by pointing fingers at the commission. By blaming the Election Commission
for his defeat, he wants to show that he is the leader of the people, while the
reality is that he has lost the trust of the people long ago.
Booth
capturing SP's history and reality: Swatantra Dev Singh said that the history
of SP is full of booth capturing, manipulation of voter list and election
violence. From 2012 to 2017, there was no democracy in UP, but goonda-raj.
During the Mainpuri elections in 2009, the police was attacked at the booth in
the presence of a big SP leader, but even an FIR was not registered. This is
the real face of SP, does Akhilesh want to bring back that era?
The
allegations are false and baseless: He said that Akhilesh Yadav's allegations
are completely false and baseless. The Election Commission investigated and
found no evidence. When the Election Commission calls SP, they do not present
their views there. They do not present their views in Parliament. The Supreme
Court has also reprimanded those who question the Election Commission. But
these people serve white lies on social media. The reality is that Akhilesh,
who is upset with the defeat, is pointing fingers at the Commission to hide his
failures. The minister said that today the Election Commission is working
completely independently and transparently. Reforms like VVPAT, digital
platform and strict monitoring have stopped the booth capturing politics of SP
forever. This is the reason why Akhilesh Yadav is restless and is conspiring to
defame the Commission.
Criminals
and strongmen were part of the election process in the SP government: He said
that during the SP rule, incidents of booth capturing, fake voting and pressure
on the administration were common during assembly and panchayat elections.
During that period, there were deaths and serious fights in election violence
in many districts. Criminals and strongmen became part of the election process
in the SP government. Mafia leaders openly captured polling booths. People's
right to vote was snatched away. They have a tradition of pressurizing the
Election Commission so that it cannot work properly. Similarly, there have been
complaints of manipulation of voter lists by pressurizing administrative
officers.
