Dehradun, August 15 (HS) : Marking the 79th Independence Day, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami unfurled the national flag at the CM’s residence and administered a solemn pledge of national unity. Extending his greetings to the people of Uttarakhand, he paid heartfelt tribute to the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for India’s freedom and the protection of Maa Bharati.

Remembering the victims of the recent disasters in Dharali and other affected regions, the Chief Minister offered condolences to the bereaved families and assured that comprehensive rehabilitation measures would be put in place.

Highlighting India’s growing global stature under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Dhami said that a series of historic decisions have propelled the nation forward, reflecting the dreams of the immortal martyrs. He stressed that Uttarakhand, too, is witnessing rapid progress in reconstruction and development, with the state government committed to working with clear vision and determination.

“We are drafting plans for the next 25 years, with the unwavering aim of making Uttarakhand one of the most progressive and exemplary states in the country, powered by public participation,” he affirmed.

Later in the day, CM Dhami also hoisted the national flag at the Bharatiya Janata Party office on Balbir Road, where he was joined by Rajya Sabha MPs and BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt, Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, Cabinet Minister Ganesh, and a large gathering of party leaders and workers.
