Hooghly, 14 August (H.S.): The body of a nurse was found hanging from a noose in a room located on the fourth floor of Shivam Sevasadan Nursing Home located in Borai Tematha area under Singur police station of Hooghly District Police Rural late on Wednesday night. The family alleged that their daughter was murdered after rape.

As per information, the deceased was a resident of Rainagar in Nandigram. She had completed her nursing studies from Bengaluru last year. She had appeared for the JNM exam. To gain experience, she recently started working as a trained nurse at Shivam Sevasadan Nursing Home.

The family also said that their daughter cannot commit suicide. Their asked, Why did the police take away the body before they could reach?

After the incident, the local people surrounded the police and protested. The police have sent the body for post-mortem and initiated an investigation into the matter.
