Three Policemen Killed in Deadly Ambush in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Islamabad, August 14 (HS): In a brazen act of violence, suspected militants gunned down three police personnel in Pakistan’s restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, making off with their weapons before vanishing without a trace.

According to The Express Tribune, the deadly ambush took place on Wednesday in the Ali Zai area of Kurram tribal district. The attackers reportedly hurled a grenade at a police vehicle and unleashed a hail of bullets on officers traveling to Parachinar. The assault left all three policemen dead on the spot.

Preliminary police reports confirm that the assailants seized the slain officers’ firearms before fleeing. Security forces immediately cordoned off the area and launched a search operation, but there has been no sign of the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, in another development, provincial authorities have eased a two-day curfew in Bajaur district, offering a brief respite to residents. As the restrictions were lifted, markets in Khar, Inayat Kalle, Siddiqabad, and Nawagai sprang back to life, with locals rushing to buy essentials. Road traffic quickly resumed, restoring a semblance of normalcy to the region still reeling from recurrent violence.
