Kolkata, 14 August (H.S.) The Enforcement Directorate has taken another major action in the SSC recruitment corruption case. The ED raided a luxurious residence in Newtown and an office in Park Street, Kolkata in search of suspicious properties. ED officials claimed that this property was purchased with crores of rupees earned from SSC recruitment corruption.
As per information, the central investigating agency has been investigating the financial transactions and property purchases related to this case for a long time. On Thursday morning, a team of ED officials reached the residence in Newtown. There are a total of 16 luxurious villas here, which are suspected to have been purchased with the money of SSC recruitment corruption. According to ED sources, accused Prasanna Roy is likely to be involved in this purchase. The ownership of the villa, the purchase price and the transaction documents are being investigated.
Apart from this, the ED also searched a real estate office located in Park Street. This company is the promoter of that villa. Investigators have seized various financial documents, property documents and transaction accounts from the office. By combining all these information, it will be ascertained whether they have any direct connection with the financial irregularities in the SSC case.
The names of many politicians, businessmen and administrative officials have already surfaced in the SSC recruitment corruption case. This time, the case of buying 16 luxurious villas has added a new dimension to the investigation. The ED claims that the documents recovered in this action will help expose the corruption network in the coming days. According to sources, the investigators may also conduct further searches and interrogation as the next step in this incident.
