Hooghly, 12 August (H.S.): A video of an attack on police near Chuchura Imambara Hospital, a short distance from the headquarters of Chandannagar Police Commissionerate, has gone viral. In this video, two youths and a woman are seen publicly pulling a policeman by holding his uniform. When the policeman tries to sit in the car, the youths are pulling him by holding his uniform and taking him some distance. There is a crowd of people and other police personnel at the spot who are watching the scene. Although Hindusthan Samachar does not confirm the authenticity of this video, this one minute 55 second video is rapidly going viral on social media since Tuesday morning.

As per local siurces, this incident happened on August 9 near Chuchura Imambara Sadar Hospital. The youth and woman seen in the video are very close to local Trinamool councillor Sameer Sarkar.

This open attack on a policeman has also raised questions on the functioning of Chandannagar Police Commissionerate. However, till the time of filing of the news, officials of Chandannagar Police Commissionerate did not bother to react on this matter.
