Kolkata, 12 August (H.S.) There was a lot of ruckus on Tuesday during the Raj Bhavan campaign organized by the West Bengal in protest against the alleged harassment of Rahul Gandhi and opposition MPs. There was a clash between the police and Congress workers during the campaign. The police detained many workers including state Congress President Shubhankar Sarkar and took them in a prison van.

On Tuesday afternoon, as soon as the procession reached Raj Bhavan, the Congress leadership clashed with the police. A worker climbed the barricade and reached in front of the Raj Bhavan. The police took him into custody. After that, state Congress President Shubhankar and other leaders sat on a dharna in front of the gate of Raj Bhavan.

After some heated altercation, the police took him and other leaders in a prison van. Shubhankar, who led the procession, said that Rahul Gandhi has caught vote theft. The BJP has stolen votes in connivance with the Election Commission. Opposition MPs have been harassed in Delhi. So we are protesting here.
