Lucknow, 12 Aug

(HS): The monsoon session of the UP Legislature is underway. During the

Question Hour, the opposition posed questions to the government on issues of

school merger, Fatehpur incident, teacher recruitment and journalist safety.

The ministers concerned from the ruling party answered queries raised by

opposition. Responding to the question of the Leader of the Opposition,

Minister Suresh Khanna said that the government does not support incidents like

Fatehpur at all. A case has been registered against 10 named and 50

unidentified people. All the accused will be punished under the judicial

process. Leader of the Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey cornered the government

over the Fatehpur incident. He said that a leader of a party called people to

come seven days ago. They created ruckus at the appointed time. The police

could not handle it. It has become the motive of the government to disturb

communal harmony.

Responding to the

question of law and order, Minister Suresh Khanna said that in hundreds of

cases, the punishment was given within a minimum of 22 days and a maximum of

134 days. No government has given punishment so quickly through the judicial

process. At present, 12 forensic labs are working in the state. Work is going

on in three districts. The land is available in the remaining three districts;

forensic labs will be built there as well. The target is to build forensic labs

in every division.

The opposition

surrounded the government on the issue of law and order. They raised their

questions by presenting the statistics of murder, molestation, rape and police

harassment. They said that there is not enough forensic team in every district.

In such a situation, how will the common people get security.

MLA Imran got

angry at the statement of the Water Power Minister. He said that the minister

is giving false statements. You call and ask the villagers, if water is

reaching there then I will resign from the House. He demanded an investigation

of the scheme.

While answering

the question of SP MLA Imran, Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh said that

Imran, swear on your wife and tell us that water is not reaching your village.

Opposition leaders opposed this. The minister further said that the company

which has been given the contract has written that 90% of the work has been completed.

If the work is not done, action will be taken against the company.
