Mumbai, 12 Aug (HS): The Maharashtra Cabinet has
accepted the demand of the Fair Price Shop Owners and increased their margin money from Rs 150 per quintal to Rs 170 per quintal.
The information was given by the Civil Supplies and
Consumer Protection Minister, Chhagan Bhujbal.
The government will face an additional burden of Rs
92.71 crore every year with the hike in the margin money. The demand to hike
the margin money was being raised by the shop owners. Several meetings were
also held to discuss the issue, Bhujbal said.
