Golaghat (Assam), 12 August (HS): A total of 700 recruits from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd India Reserve Battalions of Goa Police have successfully completed their 43-week basic training course at the Lachit Barphukan Police Academy (LBPA) in Dergaon, Assam. A grand passing out parade was held at the academy premises on Tuesday.
The event was attended by the Chief Ministers of Goa and Assam, senior police officials from both states, and family members of the recruits. The batch, which arrived at LBPA on October 4, 2024, underwent rigorous training in physical fitness, mental endurance, field tactics, and weapons handling. Notably, this batch included recruits from Assam, Manipur, and Goa Police, promoting inter-state camaraderie and professional exchange.
During the parade, the recruits displayed precision and discipline. Senior officers reviewed the parade, which featured an oath-taking ceremony, march past, award distribution, and a special “Panthers on Wheels” demonstration.
The Goa CM praised the recruits’ dedication and transformation during their training, stressing that discipline, integrity, and public service form the foundation of police duty.
The Lachit Barphukan Police Academy, one of the premier police training centres in the country, has trained thousands of recruits and continues to play a vital role in enhancing policing capabilities across states.
