Kushtigir Khashaba Jadhav Paramparik Krida Mahakumbh 2025 is being organised at
Maharaja Pratap ITI, Kurla Sports Complex, Mumbai, from August 13 to 22. The
event is also being held to mark the 300th death anniversary of
Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar.
Maharashtra Chief
Minister Devendra Fadnavis will inaugurate the mega traditional sports event at
11 am on August 13. Minister for Skill Development, Employment,
Entrepreneurship, and Innovation Mangal Prabhat Lodha conceptualised the event.
Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Manikrao Kokate will be in the chair.
Renowned wrestler Khashaba Jadhav's son Ranjit Jadhav will remain present.
Traditional sports,
including Mallakhamb, Kabaddi, Kho Kho, Javelin Throw, Wrestling, Gill-Danda,
Lagori, Langdi, running race etc, will be held during the sports festival. A
total of 16 traditional sports have been included in the event.
About one lakh youths
had participated in the event last year. This year, the organisers expect a
higher participation from across the state. The participants will also be
guided about the traditional sports.
