Bhubaneswar, 12 August (H.S.): Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Minister for Electronics & IT, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, following the Union Cabinet’s approval for the establishment of two semiconductor manufacturing units in Odisha.
In a statement posted on social media, the Chief Minister hailed the decision as a transformative step that will significantly boost Odisha’s industrial and technological landscape. He highlighted that the recent amendment to the Odisha Semiconductor Manufacturing and Fabless Policy—designed to enhance investment viability, competitiveness, and long-term sustainability—has created a strong foundation for this strategic development.
“This Cabinet approval is a major milestone in our journey toward positioning Odisha as a hub of innovation and advanced manufacturing,” the Chief Minister said.
He emphasized that this collaborative initiative between the State and Central Governments is set to accelerate innovation, create high-skilled employment opportunities, and contribute meaningfully to the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The CM reaffirmed his government’s commitment to fostering a robust semiconductor ecosystem and said Odisha is ready to play a key role in strengthening India’s self-reliance in critical technologies. He also expressed hope for continued cooperation between both governments to ensure comprehensive development of the state and the nation.
