Guwahati, 01 August (HS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive in Guwahati on August 29 for a day-long visit that includes multiple high-profile engagements, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Friday.
The highlight of Shah’s visit will be the inauguration of the newly built Raj Bhavan in the state capital. Additionally, he will participate in a convention of newly elected NDA panchayat members, who will be honoured in a special felicitation programme.
“On August 29, the Union Home Minister will be in Guwahati to inaugurate the new Raj Bhavan,” Sarma said. “He will also attend a gathering of NDA panchayat members, following our strong performance in the recent elections.”
Shah’s itinerary also includes launching the birth centenary celebrations of Golap Borbora, Assam’s first non-Congress Chief Minister. He is expected to return to New Delhi later the same evening.
