Delhi, 9 July (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Windhoek, Namibia, on Wednesday, marking his first visit there at the invitation of President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah. After completing a four-day tour of Brazil, Modi received a traditional welcome in Namibia. In a post on X ,PM Modi wrote,Landed in Windhoek a short while ago. Namibia is a valued and trusted African partner with whom we seek to boost bilateral cooperation. Looking forward to meeting President Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and addressing the Namibian Parliament today.
The visit to Namibia, at the invitation of President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, marks Modi's first trip to the country and the third visit by an Indian prime Minister in 27years. The focus of the visit includes strengthening strategic ties in minerals, uranium trade, digital infrastructure, diamond exports, and clean energy investments. PM Modi is set to pay tribute to Namibia's founding father, Sam Nujoma, and deliver an address at the Namibian Parliament, highlighting India's historical ties with Namibia.
