Delhi, 9 July (H.S.): The nationwide strike led by ten central labor organizations is impacting banking, postal, electricity, and public transport services, though commercial markets remain unaffected. These unions are mobilizing 25 crore workers against new labor codes.

Reports from states like West Bengal, Kerala, Jharkhand, and Karnataka indicate participation since the strike commenced on Wednesday. Amarjeet Kaur, General Secretary of the All India Trade Union Congress, confirmed the strike's effects on various services and noted disruptions in copper and coal mining. Farmer unions from Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan are also joining protests.

Key demands include repealing four labour codes, addressing contractorization, halting public sector privatization, raising the minimum wage to ₹26,000 per month, and establishing a minimum support price for crops according to the Swaminathan Commission's formula, along with loan waivers for farmers.
