New Delhi, July 9(HS): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested a Delhi Police ASI for accepting a 35,000 rupee bribe on Wednesday. The ASI from Dwarka North police station and a head constable initially sought a 5,000 rupee advance, later increasing the request to 5,000 to 10,000 rupees monthly. Eventually, terms were settled at a one-time payment of 10,000 rupees plus 2,000 rupees monthly per individual.

The CBI opened an investigation on July 8, trapping the ASI red-handed during the bribe exchange. Ongoing questioning of the ASI continues while the investigation into the head constable’s involvement is also being pursued, with further details expected.
