Delhi, 6 July (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi expresses deep grief over the loss of lives, particularly children, due to the devastating floods in Texas.

The Prime Minister posted on X Deeply saddened to learn about loss of lives, especially children in the devastating floods in Texas. Our condolences to the US Government and the bereaved families.

At least 27 people, including nine children, have died in Texas floods, with many others missing, particularly girls from Camp Mystic. The floods were triggered by a strong storm that caused the Guadalupe River to surge dramatically, rising 26 feet (about 8 meters) in 45 minutes, destroying homes and vehicles. Rescue teams are actively searching for the missing as flash flood warnings remain in effect amid forecasts of more heavy rain. City manager Dalton Rice reported that 27 individuals are unaccounted for from the summer camp, with others also missing in various locations.
