Islamabad, 4 July (H.S.): A climber from the Czech Republic Klara Kolouchova, died after falling into a gorge near the base camp of Nanga Parbat on July 4. This incident occurred around 4 AM while she attempted to summit the ninth-highest mountain in the world, infamous for its dangers. Initially, there were reports of her death being linked to an explosion of an oxygen cylinder; however, it was later confirmed that her death resulted from the fall itself, as identified by Deputy Commissioner Nizamuddin Qasim.

She had been in Chilas since June 15 and reached the Boner base camp on June 17 with her team. Following the incident, her team returned to the base camp to report her death. An operation is expected to locate her exact fall site, with a helicopter possibly being used for the search.

Nanga Parbat is known as the Killer Mountain due to the deaths of over 30 climbers in 1953 while attempting to climb it. The mountain offers views of the Indus River, which flows southwest through Pakistan and originates from the Sin-Ka-Bab stream near Lake Manasarovar in Tibet.
