Delhi, 3 July (H.S.): An incident has been reported regarding the distressed condition of pavement crust at certain locations along the 6-lane Sanchore–Santalpur Section of the Amritsar–Jamnagar Economic Corridor (NH–754K) in Gujarat constructed by M/s CDS Infra Projects Limited. The affected length includes 1.35 km on the left-hand side in 10 patches and 1.36 km on the right-hand side in 05 patches.

The pavement crust failure is attributed to defects in Aggregate Inter Layer (AIL), Cement Treated Base (CTB), and inadequate drainage. The project’s Completion Certificate has not been issued, and the contractor must address the defects at their risk and expense. M/s CDS Infra Projects has been debarred from current and future bids, facing a monetary penalty of Rs. 2.8 Cr.

Additionally, the Authority’s Engineer has also been debarred, and the NHAI Project Director has been suspended. Expert Committees have been formed for failure analysis, with the contractor already initiating rectification work.
