AIADMK Invites BJP Leaders to Launch State-Wide Campaign

Chennai, 3 July (H.S.): The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has extended an invitation to Tamil Nadu BJP chief Nainar Nagendran and other senior leaders to join party general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami's state-wide campaign, ‘Makkalai Kaappom, Thamizhagathai Meetpom’ (Let us protect the people, let us save Tamil Nadu).

The campaign is set to kick off on July 7 in Coimbatore, marking the beginning of a 14-day statewide padyatra that will cover eight districts and conclude on July 21 in Thanjavur.

According to sources, Palaniswami will tour 21 district units, addressing over 30 public meetings during the campaign. The AIADMK leader aims to highlight the failures of the DMK government, focusing on issues like deteriorating law and order, price rise, and alleged administrative mismanagement. This campaign is part of the party's efforts to lay the groundwork for the assembly elections scheduled for early next year.

The invite to BJP leaders is seen as a strategic move to demonstrate cohesion between the two alliance partners ahead of the 2026 Assembly polls. BJP general secretary A P Muruganandam confirmed that he would accompany Nagendran to the program, emphasizing solidarity with the AIADMK.

This development comes after Union Minister Amit Shah announced the BJP-AIADMK alliance's plan to form the government in Tamil Nadu in 2026.
