Meerut,
29 July (HS): The death of a road accident
victim in Meerut has generated widespread indignation amid suspicions of
medical incompetence. Sunil, a
30-year-old man, died in Meerut after a car accident, which was allegedly
caused by medical workers who were asleep.
Two younger physicians have been suspended, and independent
investigations into the hospital's involvement in the event are underway. Sunil was taken to LLRM Medical College's
emergency department late Sunday, but died the next morning as a result of his
injuries. According to family relatives,
his death was caused by medical staff's negligence. The incident resulted in the immediate
suspension of two junior resident doctors and the formation of separate
investigation committees by hospital and district officials. Accountability is being determined through
continuing investigations.
