Kolkata, 29 July (H.S.): After Delhi Police's disclosure in connection with the alleged misbehavior with a migrant worker from Malda, Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari lashed out at Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Suvendu wrote on his official X handle, The public has come to know that Mamata is a liar. The Chief Minister had claimed in a post on July 27, 2025 that the Delhi Police beat up a Bengali-speaking woman and her son in the name of Aadhaar verification in Delhi.
As per information from reliable sources, the woman Sajnoor Parveen had initially claimed that on July 25, four people, who were claiming to be policemen, came to her house and accused her family of being Bangladeshi citizens. The next day, i.e. on July 26, she and her two children were forcibly taken to a park near Mangalam Hospital, forcibly detained and threatened to release them after paying a ransom of Rs 25,000.
But discrepancies are emerging in the CCTV footage! It clearly shows that she is leaving the house alone with her children, which does not match the claim of use of force.
Sajnoor Parveen has already admitted that she made this false claim after being misled by some people. The story was fabricated. The truth is that his maternal uncle, who is a political worker, fabricated this false story at the behest of a journalist and the video shared on social media is completely false.
Many such false stories will be spread, so this time believe it with your eyes, not your ears.
Notably, a few days ago, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had accused the Delhi Police that in the name of Aadhaar verification, the wife and children of a migrant worker from Bengal were beaten up by the police in Delhi. Sharing a video on social media, she had termed it as language terrorism of the BJP. Mamata Banerjee had questioned whether Bengalis will now be persecuted just for speaking their language?
After investigating the matter, the Delhi Police has clarified that the viral video was completely fabricated. According to the CCTV footage, the woman is seen going out normally with her children, and there is no assault anywhere. According to the police, the woman admitted during interrogation that this story was made at the behest of a politically active relative. The same person also made the video viral to defame the Delhi Police and the BJP.
Anyway, this entire incident has once again brought the state's politics to a boil. While the BJP has accused the Mamata government of spreading lies, the Trinamool Congress is still claiming that Bengalis are facing injustice in other states. The question before the public now is whether the truth has come out or will this controversy deepen further?
