Bhubaneswar, 29 July (H.S.): The Odisha Vigilance Department on Tuesday conducted simultaneous raids on multiple properties linked to Raja Kishore Jena, Assistant Engineer in the Roads and Buildings (R&B) Division-III, Bhubaneswar, in connection with a case of alleged possession of disproportionate assets. Acting on search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, the raids were carried out by a large team comprising seven Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), five Inspectors, one Sub-Inspector, 11 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and other personnel.
During the operation, the Vigilance team uncovered a substantial collection of immovable assets, including a triple-storeyed building of approximately 3,500 sq ft located on Plot No. 226 in Sector-5, Niladri Vihar, Bhubaneswar. The searches also led to the discovery of two premium flats at Cosmopolis in Bhubaneswar — one on the 8th floor (Flat No. E-083, 1800 sq ft) and another on the 16th floor (Flat No. H-164, 650 sq ft).
Additionally, officials seized documents related to a shop (No. 024) measuring around 400 sq ft on the ground floor of Utkal Kanika Galleria Mall, currently operating as a Nykaa Luxe showroom, and another shop (No. 16) located in Symphony Mall, Rudrapur, Pahala, Bhubaneswar.
The ongoing investigation also revealed the possession of 13 high-value land parcels, indicating a significant accumulation of wealth. Further scrutiny is underway to assess the source of funds and verify whether the assets were acquired through legal means. The Vigilance Department continues to investigate to determine the full extent of disproportionate assets allegedly owned by the officer.
