Bhubaneswar, 29 July (H.S.) Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan paid tribute to freedom fighter and social reformer Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar on his death anniversary.

In a message shared on social media, Shri Pradhan wrote, I pay my heartfelt tribute to Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar on his death anniversary , a freedom fighter, social reformer, and a great scholar. Vidyasagar ji not only raised his voice against superstition and social evils prevalent in Indian society but also strongly advocated for women’s education and social equality.

He further added, Vidyasagar believed that true progress of society is possible only when equal opportunities are provided to all, especially women and the underprivileged. Alongside promoting education, he dedicated his life to strengthening Indian culture and civilization. His life and legacy will continue to inspire us to work for the upliftment of society.
