29 July (HS): The water level of the Yamuna River has been rising rapidly since
Monday after three lakh cusecs of water was released from the Kota Barrage. Due
to the rise in water level, an atmosphere of panic has been created in the
villages situated on the river bank. Memories of the last terrible flood have
been revived. Looking at the situation, the administration has completely come
on alert mode.
The
water level of Yamuna was seen rising rapidly since Tuesday morning, due to
which the Gohanikalan road was closed by the police for safety. The
administration has tightened the security arrangements with boats and relief
material. Night patrolling has been started in the affected areas. Most
affected villages: Many villages including Sikrodi, Gohanikalan, Gohani Khurd,
Jajpur, Asevata, Juhikha, Badhera, Gunj, Tatarpur and Bawain may be affected by
the rising water level.
Administration
on alert, inspection continues: Sub-district magistrate Nikhil Rajput and
tehsildar Avinash Kumar are continuously visiting the affected areas. Villagers
are being advised to remain alert and go to safer places.
Administration's
appeal: The affected families have been appealed to reach safer places.
Lekhpals and revenue team have been instructed to immediately inform in case of
rising water level and play an active role in relief work.
