Udhampur, 29 July (H.S.): Kailash Kund Yatra Management Committee, Dudu today submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Udhampur seeking adequate arrangements for the annual pilgrimage, which is scheduled next month.

The committee has demanded installation of at least 50 tents of different size at base camp Dudu, Seoj Dhar and community kitchen points besides adequate security for the yatra, clean drinking water, electricity generator, deployment of medical team, repair of pedestrian path leading to Seoj Dhar, portable toilets at the base camp and the Yatra route, transport facility for the movement of the pilgrims, etc.

The committee also demanded declaration of holiday on August 20 and 21 in Tehsil Latti and Basantgarh as per the past practice. According to president of the Yatra Management Committee, Hans Raj Thakur, the holy mace will leave the base camp (Basuki Nag Temple, Dudu) on August 20, 2025 and return on August 22, involving night stay at Seoj Dhar (August 20) and Kailash Kund (August 21).
