Jhabua, June 4 (HS): A tragic road accident took place near the Sanjeli railway crossing in Jhabua district, Madhya Pradesh, when a cement truck lost control and overturned onto an omni van, resulting in nine fatalities. Among the victims were four children, three women, and two men. Additionally, two individuals, including a five-year-old child, sustained serious injuries and were hospitalized. The families involved were returning to their village after a wedding when the accident occurred around 3 AM near Bhavapura village. The police and ambulances responded promptly, transporting the injured to hospitals.

Jhabua's Superintendent of Police, Padam Vilochan Shukla, reported that the truck, en route from Rajasthan, overturned at a turn near an under-construction overbridge, crushing the van. Of the eleven occupants in the van, nine died, and two were injured. The truck driver fled the scene, prompting the police to file a case and initiate an investigation. The deceased individuals were identified as members from two families: Mukesh Khaped (40), his wife Sawli Khaped (35), their children Vinod (16) and Payal (12), and several members of the Bamaniya family. The injured include Payal Parmar (19) and Ashu Bamaniya (5), who are currently receiving medical treatment.
