Guwahati/New Delhi, 4 June (HS): Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) and Communications Jyotiraditya M Scindia has expressed deep concern over the floods and landslides caused by torrential rains in Northeast India. He has assured all possible assistance from the central government to the affected states.

Minister Scindia personally spoke to the Chief Ministers of Sikkim and Assam and the Governor of Manipur in this regard. He took stock of the situation and assured all possible help from the Center.

Speaking to Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang over the phone, Scindia said, We stand firmly with the people of Sikkim in this difficult time and will provide all possible assistance.

He also spoke to Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma and reviewed the situation in the state and assured all possible assistance from the Center for relief and rehabilitation work.

During a conversation with Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, he reiterated the full commitment of the central government and said that all possible help will be provided to the affected people.

Scindia also posted on 'X' (formerly Twitter) regarding this entire incident and expressed solidarity with the people of the Northeast. He wrote that the central government is committed to quick and coordinated efforts to deal with the situation.--------
