New Delhi, June 4 (H.S.): Gandhi's remark surrender criticized PM Modi for capitulating to international pressure following the Pahalgam attack and the subsequent Operation Sindoor. BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi defended Modi, accusing Gandhi of maligning the military and showcasing immaturity as Leader of the Opposition. He argued that Gandhi's comparison of military courage with surrender disrespected the armed forces and jeopardized troop morale. Trivedi clarified that the ceasefire was a strategic decision, not a sign of weakness.
At a press event, Trivedi noted that while opposition MPs were diplomatically representing India, Gandhi made unfounded accusations, lacking the seriousness expected in his role. He stated that such remarks are unprecedented, not even echoed by the Pakistani military or terrorists, asserting that the success of Operation Sindoor was recognized by the Armed Forces, not political leaders. Gandhi's comments were thus seen as a blatant insult to military valor.
