Delhi, 4 June (H.S.): Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, Dr. P K Mishra, emphasized India's commitment to global disaster resilience at the 8th Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction in Geneva on June 3, He engaged in discussions with Norway's Deputy Minister, underlining the need for international collaboration while participating in the opening ceremony to showcase India's proactive disaster preparedness efforts.
The Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction, organized by UNDRR and hosted by Switzerland in Geneva from June 2-6, 2025. The eighth session (GP2025) aims to evaluate progress on the Sendai Framework and implement recommendations from the May 2023 Political Declaration. Stakeholders will recommit to accelerating disaster risk reduction aligned with sustainable development. The GP2025 agenda focuses on the Sendai Framework's goals and priorities, acknowledging the shared responsibility of reducing disaster risk among various stakeholders, with UNDRR supporting its implementation and review.
