Guwahati, 4 June (HS): A felicitation ceremony was organised in the Madhukar Limaye auditorium of Alok Bhawan in Bharalumukh, Guwahati under the joint aegis of Dr. Hedgewar Memorial Committee and Balmiki Music School to honour meritorious students of sanitation workers.
According to the information given on Wednesday, the Prant Pracharak of Assam Prant of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Bashistha Bujarbarua was present as the keynote speaker in this programme. In his address, he said, No matter how successful we become, we should never forget our society. When we forget the society, we start losing ourselves as well.
Addressing the students, he said, We should definitely become doctors, engineers or businessmen after studying, but at the same time we will have to work to improve our society, make it self-reliant and take everyone along.
Quoting Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, Bujarbarua said that Ambedkar was a great scholar who made continuous efforts to unite the Hindu society. He said that there is no mention of untouchability or discrimination anywhere in Indian philosophy or scriptures, these are things made up by some people of the society. Dr. Ambedkar worked for the unity of Hindu society throughout his life and never converted to another religion due to any greed.
He said that Ambedkar, while opposing communism, had clearly said, As long as I am alive, I will not let any person of Scheduled Caste come under the influence of communism. The Prant Pracharak said that we should adopt Ambedkar's thinking and work to make Bharat Mata the world leader.
On this occasion, more than two hundred students who passed the high school and higher secondary examinations this year were honored by presenting them with certificates, Tulsi plant and Gamocha. The program started with a grand Bargeet presented by the girl students.
On this occasion, about 300 people including Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's Assam Prant's Prant Karyavah Khagen Saikia, Mahanagar Sanghchalak Guru Prasad Medhi, Sarva Shiksha Mission's media officer Deepa Basfor, All Assam Safai Karamchari Pramukh Baidyanath Basfor were present.
