New Delhi, June 4 (H.S.): J.P. Nadda, the National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, criticized Rahul Gandhi for his comments about the Indian Army, arguing that surrender is synonymous with the Congress party's history. Nadda highlighted past instances where the Congress government surrendered, including under terrorism,
negotiations like Sharm el-Sheikh and the Shimla Agreement after the 1971 war, as well as during the Indus Water Treaty, Haji Pir pass, and previous wars, asserting that surrender is embedded in Congress's DNA. He condemned Rahul Gandhi's use of the word ‘surrender’ in relation to the Indian Army as a grave insult to both the military and the nation, as well as its 1.4 billion citizens.
Nadda pointed out that had such remarks been made by a Pakistani, it would have been ridiculed, especially following India's Operation Sindoor, which he emphasized was a military success recognized by the Indian Army, not the BJP. He asserted that the operation demonstrated the valor of the Indian Army, which inflicted significant damage on Pakistan. Nadda concluded that those with a history of surrender cannot comprehend the strength and achievements of the Indian armed forces.
