Guwahati, 3 June (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the Chief Minister of the state Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and talked about the floods in Assam. Chief Minister Dr. Sarma shared a post on social media on Tuesday and said that some time before, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called me to get information about the current situation of floods in Assam.
The Chief Minister said that, I told him how incessant rains have caused floods in Assam and adjoining states and this has affected the lives of many people. I also told him about the relief operation being run by the state government. He told that the Prime Minister expressed concern and assured full support from the central government for our relief and rehabilitation efforts. It has been said that I am grateful for his guidance and unwavering support to the people of Assam.
It is known that the Chief Minister has arrived on Tuesday morning to take stock of the floods in Cachar district of Barak Valley. On the other hand, the Chief Minister on Monday visited the flood affected areas of Lakhimpur district of Upper Assam and assured the affected people of all possible help from the government.
