Guwahati, 20 June (HS): During a joint operation of the team of Bashisht Police Station and Jorabat Police Outpost of Guwahati, a huge quantity of English liquor was seized and two smugglers were arrested during the operation conducted on the National Highway.
Police said on Friday that on the basis of secret information, 160 cartons of English liquor were seized from a truck (AS-01RC- 7957) going to Mizoram during the operation conducted on the National Highway. Which was being transported in a very clever way hidden under the cover of exide battery.
The seized English liquor was released for sale in Meghalaya. Two people have been arrested in this case. The arrested accused have been identified as Kabir Hussain Lashkar of Hailakandi and Milan Hussain Lashkar of Cachar. This operation was conducted under the leadership of Bashisht Police Station in-charge Kapil Pathak. Police have registered an FIR in this regard and are investigating the matter. --------------
