Guwahati, 2 June (HS): In view of the floods in many districts of Assam including Lakhimpur, Cachar and Charaideo, the state BJP has directed its workers to play an active role and engage in relief work among the victims.
A statement issued from the state BJP office said that the state unit has sent instructions to all the district committees and said that separate relief monitoring committees should be formed in each district so that the flood victims are not deprived of any kind of relief.
On receiving instructions from the state, the committees of Bajali, Bilasipara, Charaideo, Darang, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Guwahati, Hojai, Kaliabor, Lakhimpur, Majuli, Nalbari, North Kamrup, South Kamrup and South Shalmara-Mankachar districts have expedited the relief work and sent the report to the state office.
State President Dilip Saikia said that workers at all levels of the state should go among the flood victims with a spirit of service and help them. He also called upon them to play their role in relief and rescue operations.---------------
